* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wildfire smoke continues to increase west of the Cascades over far northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, which may limit high temperatures by approximately 1-3 degrees. However, temperatures will still be hot enough to bring an increased risk of heat-related illnesses even if temperatures are dampened a few degrees from smoke.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Washington, Fire Weather Zone 636 Western Columbia River Gorge in Oregon and Washington.
* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30-35 mph. Winds will be strongest through this afternoon.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15-20 percent. Relative humidity values will be lowest this afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. Poor overnight humidity recoveries are expected with maximum relative humidity values ranging between 35-45%.
* IMPACTS...Conditions may be favorable for rapid fire spread which may threaten life and property. Use extra caution with potential ignition sources, especially in grassy areas. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency have issued an Air Quality Advisory, which is in effect until further notice. An Air Quality Advisory for Smoke has been issued. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels due to smoke at times until further notice. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems.
