* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation of largely sleet and freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations ranging from one quarter to one half of an inch. Locally higher ice amounts approaching three quarters of an inch are also possible across the Piedmont. Total sleet and snow accumulations up to two inches.

A band of moderate to heavy freezing rain and sleet will continue to push east, impacting Raleigh, Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, and areas along and east of Highway 1. Ice accumulation of a tenth to two tenths of an inch may accumulate on roads, bridges, overpasses, and sidewalks, resulting in extremely hazardous road conditions. Additionally, reduced visibilities can be expected in pockets of heavy sleet.
